Falling Skies: The Complete Second Season (DVD)

The mystery deepens for the remaining survivors of the massive alien invasion as Falling Skies returns for its second season with mysterious new creatures. Three months have passed since former college professor, father of three and unlikely leader of the civilian resistance group Tom Mason (Noah Wyle) went willingly with the aliens on one of their ships to free his son and learn their plans. Nobody has seen or heard anything from him during this time, and his absence has taken its toll on his sons. Ben and his older brother, Hal, have stepped up as fighters but quickly clash as they both seek to secure their roles as leaders in their father's absence. Many lives have been lost since Tom left, but the survivors of the 2nd Mass still struggle on with courage and resilience. In the first season, our heroes coped with the trauma of losing their world; in this season, they take action and fight back!

Another great Sci-Fi show... Lets just hope they don't cancel it!

Falling Skies is good Sci-Fi series that depicts an end of the world alien invasion scenario. Who cares if the acting or the special effects are not the "best to date" (which it is really not that bad). Its the content and story that matter the most in my opinion and this show has it. Besides, its also very pleasing to see some new actors on T.V. rather than the same old Hollywood mainstream.

Worthwhile

This is one of the toughest genres for a TV series to undertake. As a movie, this type of post-apocalyptic show would be easy to execute, fitting a story line nicely into 90 - 120 minutes. As a TV series, you have to keep the motion of the story line moving along for hours on end. In addition to keeping the story line moving along, you have to maintain a certain degree of realism for the situation.

I believe that Falling Skies achieves these qualities satisfactorily. While my mind occasionally does ponder the obvious contradictions (90% of the people, including the military, have been wiped out, but these rag tag fighters aren't destroyed in the same fashion), I still find the story line intriguing enough to overlook these technicalities.

Overall, this series holds its own against any other shows in this genre, and continues to gain traction with new viewers.

A Serious SG1 but Not a BattleStar Galactica

Fun to watch and does not insult the watchers intelligence. This show is all about family, community & trust. With well developed characters and plot makes it enjoyable to watch

2001 DVD vs 2007 DVD
I own both the 2001 and 2007 DVDs of this film. I really don't have any interest is who is 'right' with the aspect ratio argument, I compared both versions and found that you're missing some of the video image regardless of which version you buy. I took screenshots of both DVDs and overlayed them on top of each other. I found that with the 2001 release, you get the 1:33:1 aspect ratio where the far left and right of the screen image is clipped. With the 2007 release, you get the 1.78:1 aspect ratio where the top and bottom of the screen image is clipped off. You can see what I mean by viewing the 'customer image' I posted, above. The blue border is for the 2001 release and the red border is the 2007 release.

Both DVDs are 'digitally restored and remastered', however the 2007 release is noticeabley brighter and more vivid. The 2001 image seems faded and dull.

This release has all the other special features of the 2001 DVD release, with the addition of optional...
Brilliant film, best transfer yet!
The Shining is one of the horror genre's most notable films. Made in 1980 by the late, legendary Stanley Kubrick, the film stands out as not only one of his best but probably the best Stephen King adaptation as well. Though not nearly as true to the book as the later TV-movie would be, it is undoubtedly darker, more macabre, and ultimately superior to that version. Kubrick was a genius behind the camera, giving us long, beautiful shots, allowing us to take in both the beauty and the horror of the Overlook Hotel. For those who have yet to see the movie (and honestly, who hasn't at this point?), do yourself a favor and buy it today! Disappointment is impossible.

As for the transfer of the film, it is unbelievable. While clearly not as visually stunning or breathtaking as modern day flicks, this HD DVD version of The Shining boasts a virtually flawless transfer and cleans up many of the blemishes that were present on previous VHS and DVD versions. Black levels are deep,...
Heeeere's Johnny! A modern horror classic on DVD
It's tough to believe that Stanley Kubrick received a Worst Director Razzie nomination for "The Shining." While "The Shining" may not be given the classic status of some of his other films like "Dr. Strangelove" and "2001", it's actually the least polarizing of this highly-praised and atypical filmmaker's work.
This atmospheric thriller is sure to creep you out with its pacing, eery editing and cinematography (those tracking shots are highly effective), and Jack Nicholson's powerful performance as Jack Torrance. Horror films often tend to divide audiences into genre fans who follow the gore and those who laugh in the face of so-called scares, insisting their own resiliancy to cheap thrills and lamebrain plotting.
Fortunately, "The Shining" doesn't make you take sides, because its chills come from plotting and character study as much as they do from odd sights that will make you jump. It may stray from Stephen King's book and...

Complete Thin Man Collection, The (DVD) (7-Pack) (Rpkg)

The sparkling series featured the irresistible William Powell and Myrna Loy chemistry as husband and wife sleuths who solved murders with the aid of their wire-haired terrier, Asta. Set in the glamorous world of 1930s upper-class Manhattan, The Thin Man and its sequels established the standard for witty comedy, clever dialogue and urbane one upmanship. The 7-Disc set includes THE THIN MAN, AFTER THE THIN MAN, ANOTHER THIN MAN, SHADOW OF THE THIN MAN, SONG OF THE THIN MAN, THE THIN MAN GOES HOME, and the ALIAS NICK & NORA bonus documentary disc.

Calling All Nick & Nora Fans! A Fabulous Boxed DVD Set!!!
Warner Brothers' release of "The Complete Thin Man Collection" on DVD is a major windfall for fans of the legendry Nick and Nora Charles. Retired private eye Nick, and his ditzy, (I should be so smart), wife Nora, known for their witty repartee, ever-present cocktail in hand, and hang-over remedy at bedside, were originally created by author Dashiell Hammett. They are probably sleuthdom's most sophisticated couple - perhaps the most urbane pair in all of romantic comedy. Rumor has it, the characters were loosely based on Hammett and his longtime companion, Lillian Hellman. Played on the silver screen by William Powell & Myrna Loy, the chemistry and timing between the two is dynamite. Skippy, (the dog), plays Asta, their Wire-Haired Fox Terrier, who takes her job seriously as assistant PI.

The series' six Thin Man films, ("The Thin Man / After the Thin Man / Another Thin Man / Shadow of the Thin Man / The Thin Man Goes Home / Song of the Thin Man"), revolve around the antics...
Classic Comedy Gold Mine on DVD
FINALLY!! One of the Premiere classic comedy series of films is finally making its way to DVD from Warner Brothers. Warner Brothers DVD sets have been an embarressment of riches lately and one hopes that this Powell-Loy series will have the full treatment it richly deserves. Powell and Loy's Nick and Nora Charles are one of the silver screens most memorable duos and these films stand up to repeated viewing. I cut my classic film buff teeth on these films and have worn out all VHS copies. Wow, first the Marx Brothers see two wonderful box sets and now this. Can Laurel and Hardy be far behind in a quality set?)
Now - here is some details about features I was able to gather from various web sources:
1. Each film DVD case features the studio film poster
2. There are 7 DVDs in all- 6 for the films and a bonus 7th disc entitled "Alias Nick and Nora" which features two documentaries on William Powell and Myrna Loy.
3. It appears that the "Warners Night at the Movies"...
Truly Memorable Film Series, But Box Set Offers Little Bonus Material
MGM was not entirely enthusiastic about 1934's THE THIN MAN and even less so about the casting of Myrna Loy as Nora Charles--and director W.S. "Woody" Van Dyke was determined to have her the studio gave in with poor grace.

But Van Dyke knew what he was doing. With a wickedly witty script by Goodrich and Hackett, proto-noir cinematography by James Wong Howe, and remarkable chemistry between the stars, MGM had a major and unexpected hit. Powell and Loy would become the public's favorite screen team overnight and would go on to make a host of films together, including five more that chronicled the further adventures of Nick and Nora, sophisticated, high-living, and solving one crime after another.

The original film was a landmark in so many ways that it still sets standards to this day. The 1934 AFTER THE THIN MAN is equally fine and the 1939 ANOTHER THIN MAN and 1941 SHADOW OF THE THIN MAN only slight less so.

With Van Dyke's death in 1944 direction...

Review :
best show on television even after 7 years
I don't think Supernatural has fans. I think Supernatural has fanatics. The word "fan" implies that those who watch this show are passive. That they look forward to that one hour a week where they can escape and watch these boys fight what overwhelming "big bad" they are facing, turn off the TV set and then go about their daily lives. "Fanatic" is far more fitting for the followers of this show. We are obsessed. We read spoilers, we go to conventions, we write fan fiction, guess at plotlines, and emotionally invest in characters to the point where they become our family. This show has been on the air for SEVEN years and over those years there has been so much character and plot development that it has definitely paid off to be a fan. It is clear that the writers are smart because the consistently deliver succinct and intelligent writing and continue to move the show forward in a clear and sweeping development through Heaven and Hell, and now even Purgatory. The actors are talented,...
Supernatural Still Going Strong

I thought I'd be tired of this show by now since I typically get bored with most TV after about the 3rd or 4th season. Not so with Supernatural where the only dark moment was the beginning of Season 6 when Dean was busy trying to be a middle class white guy in suburbia. (So not you, Dean) Season 7 continues the saga while upping the stakes for the guys yet again. I miss Castiel, but not that much since the storyline he was such an integral part of has resolved--at least to some degree for now. You never know and that's the best thing about Supernatural, it combines common elements with fresh surprises every episode. Season 7 also sort of brings the regular cast back to their original roots of simply chasing monsters while staying one step ahead of their enemies. And I never get tired of that.

Supernatural Still Knows How to End a Season with a Bang!
I have been an avid follower of Supernatural since season one. As such, I have seen the show's two main characters, Sam and Dean Winchester, face creatures ranging from demons to witches, from vampires to werewolves, from wraiths to tricksters, from roogaroos to angels, and SO much more. Needless to say, you would think with a show like this, especially one where the writers will only pull from legends that already exist, things would get old quickly. However, Supernatural has been running for seven seasons now, and each one has presented something new and exciting for viewers. This particular season presented a whole new breed of monster: the leviathon. And these monsters brought with them an entirely different set of rules.

I must admit that while there were a lot of things to love about this season, including the new monsters, the classic monster-of-the-week episodes a la seasons 1 & 2, the brotherly bonding moments between Sam and Dean, and the classic Supernatural...

But Hardy, with the help of his NYPD niece Max and FBI agent Mike Weston never let up on their relentless pursuit -- even at the cost of losing family and loved ones in the struggle. With Joe Carroll once again behind bars, Lily Gray shot in cold blood by Mike Weston and Luke dead at the hands of Max Hardy, Ryan Hardy's conviction to forge a new life will be put to the test in the psychologically intense third season, when a new villain emerges from the shadows, proving to be even more insidious and dangerous than his former archenemy, Joe Carroll.

Season 3 Was Better Yet But Execs did Not Think So.
Bad News Everyone. I wont do a entire review here. The show has been canceled. Yet another great show, with really great potential, and they Yanked it. And the problem is, if there is a cliff hanger, there will be no season 4 to help with that. The contract for Bacon was 6 years, so they will be paying him. But it does not help us. I actually felt the writing was good, and getting better. They were not asking the fans to take such huge leap of faiths on so many things, and they even found a way for Joe Carrol (the character) to keep coming back. In addition to the the new story line which was getting darker. I cant speak for everyone, but I really enjoyed this third season, with the last episode still to come next week. They said the ratings had dropped, and I always tell people, watch the ratings, because no matter how much we love our shows, if they are even down a little bit for a season and god forbid two? Even by a little bit, they don't take a chance anymore, they just yank...

Killers, Cults & Love!!!

LOOOOVE this show! My daughter and I are newly converted, LOL...but, we have thoroughly enjoyed getting caught up on this series and we're just about done! The only downside is that we'll now have to wait each week for the next episode; whereas, we've been watching episodes back to back...hours at a time.

love this show

This show is addicting! Be careful once you start you won't be able to stop! I hate waiting until next week for the next episode!

Love it!!!

I absolouteley LOVE this show!! Cant wait to find out who the new A is! You can watch this season live on Abc family on tuesday nights.

PLL Season 3
I only recently starting watching PLL recently. I started with Seasons 1 and 2 on Netflix and was sucked in enough to purchase the first 10 episodes of Season 3 on Amazon Instant so that I could catch up to the current season.

Critiques that this show are far-fetched and that the acting is occasionally sub-par are accurate, but the twists, turns, and camp are what make this show so fun to watch.

The four main characters, despite being the title "liars," each have their own set of flaws that make them loveable and while at first the audience wonders "why are these girls even friends?" soon enough the friendship among them seems genuine and you are on their side as they try to figure out who murdered their best friend and who the mysterious "A" is.

Ordering this with the TV pass a great idea. I was able to purchase all the early episodes of Season 3 for a reasonable price and then cancel it when I was caught up enough to watch the new episodes currently...

Non-stop dark comedy--for everyone
Arsenic and Old Lace has been a family Halloween tradition for years. In some ways it might be called the original horror spoof: Two sweet old ladies poison lonely old men as a "charity" and bury them in the cellar, and no sooner does their stable nephew find out about this (while preparing to leave for his honeymoon) than his long-lost homicidal brother returns with a face like Frankenstein's monster.
Cary Grant knew his way around a comedy, so it's easy to believe when his character Mortimer grows more and more frazzled throughout the night, jumping from one problem to the next so quickly that he can't even remember he's just been married that day. In his place, juggling four insane relatives (three of them killers), a handful of cops, and two dead bodies, we'd all feel the worse for wear. The pace is quick, almost frantic at times; complications and plot twists come faster than anyone in the movie can handle them. The only characters who aren't perturbed...

Frank Capra delivers a great film adaptation of Joseph Kesselring's Broadway hit, "Arsenic and Old Lace". Originally filmed in 1941 just prior to WWII, but not released until 1944 because of the contract agreement to allow the play to complete its Broadway run. (The play ran for 1,444 performances.)
Cary Grant in the leading role as nephew, Mortimer Brewster is at his comedic best in this black comedy of wine, family & insanity. His 2 fabulous Aunts played by Josephine Hull & Jean Adair were encored to the screen and are perfect in their roles. Boris Karloff's obligations prevented him from doing the movie and was replaced by Raymond Massey in the movie version as Grant madcap brother. The great ensemble cast also included Peter Lorre, Edward Everett Horton, Priscilla Lane & John Alexander as a delightful zany crazy, thinking he is President "Teddy Roosevelt".

A visual powerhouse and a musical delight for anyone willing to give it a chance!
As a qualifier, I am an avid musical theatre fan and classically trained singer. Back in the 80s, I couldn't be bothered with seeing Phantom, partly because I was too busy going to show after show of Les Miserables, but mostly because I couldn't picture Michael Crawford as anything other than Cornelius, the wussy shop boy in Hello Dolly. His voice is nicely trained but his upper register is just simply annoying. I'm sorry to all his fans, but in my musical mind tenor does not equal dark and mysterious and emotionally tortured. The anger expressed by phans over casting the originals is just silly! Who wants to watch a 61-year old lusting after an older teenager? That is not entertainment, that is just gross...anyway, after relentless hounding by my niece, I broke down and took her to NYC to see it. It was wonderfully entertaining and I was glad to have gone.

You know that a movie works when it follows you long after you've left the movie theater. I saw the Broadway tour of "Phantom of the Opera" a few years ago and it has been my favorite musical since. I love it more than Cats, 42nd Street, West Side Story, Les Miserables, Miss Saigon...you name it. Its romanticism and beautiful songs just blew me away.

I was then somewhat hesitant to see the film version, fearing that it would not live up to my expectations. A little over two hours later and I found myself crying over the Phantom (Gerard Butler) and his love for the young Christine Daae (Emmy Rossum) as she decides between him or the nobleman Raoul (Patrick Wilson).

In short, I love this movie! It was everything I had hoped it to be and more. The story is faithful to the stage version but it also gives the audience a closer look into the lives of the three main characters. The art direction, sets and costumes are resplendent and breath-taking. And the songs are...
PHANTOM is a solid and spectacular film musical
Many people will look at this film version of Andrew Lloyd Webber's classic musical spectacular, THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA with mixed emotions. There are people who will be upset that Sarah Brightman and Michael Crawford, who played the original Christine and Phantom respectively, were not allowed to recreate their signature roles. There will also be people who'll be disappointed that this version is not a literal translation of the stage musical. Finally, we have the critics of both Webber and director Joel Schumacher, who have both been accused of wretched excess in previous projects in their individual careers. Taken as a film version however, this PHANTOM stands the test of time, not only as a wonderful musical film, but as one of the more faithful versions of Gaston Laroux's romance/horror novel.

Starting with a black and white prologue, the film tells the story of budding opera star Christine Daae and the two men who fight for her heart: the noble Viscount who she...

Love the Series

I recently watched Pretty Little Liars for the first time. I quickly became addicted! I'm not sure what I expected the show to be like, but it was nothing like I expected, if that makes any sense. I'm in my 50's and guess I believed it was just for teeny boppers, but it really is a fantastic show. I must add that the young ladies starring in the series, are much better actresses then a lot of "A" list actresses.

I can't stop watching

I am a teacher and I heard some of my students discussing PLL, so I thought I'd check it out. It's got all the aspects of a show that keeps you interested in the story and the characters and it just keeps getting crazier. I definitely suggest it if you want fun show to watching.

- A

Loved the way they introduced A at the season finale. Every season keeps you wanting more. Can't wait to see the 5th season.

"Punk, Quarterback punk..."
Generally panned by critics upon its release, Point Break has gone on to enjoy something of a minor cult following among action film fans who enjoy its breathlessly choreographed action sequences involving daring bank heists, car chases, skydiving and, of course, surfing - one of the film's most important selling points. The film came along after Patrick Swayze's phenomenal success with Ghost and he went completely in the opposite direction with this film. Point Break also proved to be a warm-up for Keanu Reeves who would become a full-fledged action hero with Speed a few years later.

Point Break trots out and downright revels in stereotypes: Utah is the all-American good guy, Pappas is the burn out cop and they are constantly being chewed out by their jerk-off boss (McGinley) for their screwball antics. Surprisingly, it's Swayze's Zen master/surfer/bank robber that doesn't fall into an easy stereotype and comes across as the most interesting, charismatic character in the...
An absolute gulity pleasure !!!
Review

A gang of Southern California surfers tear up the waves, while enjoying the sun, sand and the sea. But in their spare time they also double up as Bank robbers and commit their crimes masked as American presidents. The gang led by Bodhi (Patrick Swayze)have been making some serious hits.

Finally the law in the form of FBI agent Johnny Utah (Keanu Reeves) and his partner, Pappas (Gary Busey)suspect the sand lovers and decide to infiltrate them by going undercover.

Throw in skydiving, some pretty boy male bonding action and a little bit of love into this cocktail, this turns out to be a pretty decent film. The acting is saved with good pacing and a commendable script; which is not as predictable as 1 might think.

It's worth a watch, definetly!!!

Any POINT buying the Blu-Ray version? BREAK the bank!
Having recently purchased a HD TV, i knew it was only a matter of time before i bought a Blu-Ray player as well. Sure enough, a week after buying the TV, i splashed out the cash for a Blu-Ray machine. That was the easy part.

Looking at the newly released Blu-Ray titles, and the significant price difference between a regular DVD and the movie on Blu-Ray, i began to look through titles i already owned on DVD and what i thought would deserve an upgrade in picture quality and sound. Without much hesitation, Point Break sprung to mind.

I'm not going to review the actual movie. That's already been covered many times over. But assuming you've already seen the movie, this is more about what to expect from the HD version, as opposed to the regular DVD copy.

Well, the film looks FANTASTIC. You have to bear in mind that the film came out in 1991. Granted, that's not that long ago. But in terms of how technology has evolved over the past 20 years, it's a long...

Falling Skies: The Complete Fourth Season (DVD)

Falling Skies opens in the chaotic aftermath of an alien attack that has left most of the world completely incapacitated. In the six months since the initial invasion, the few survivors have banded together outside major cities to begin the difficult task of fighting back. Each day is a test of survival as citizen soldiers work to protect the people in their care while also engaging in an insurgency campaign against the occupying alien force.

Review :
The bonds of family...
"Falling Skies: season 4"(2014) is a post-apocalyptic sci-fi show which sees the earth attacked by aliens. A major focus all the way through this series is the bonds of family despite the disagreements and conflicts, with the community being a larger manifestation of the idea of family. It is the tug-a-war between the feelings of the characters and their relationships with other family members or friends that keeps this series interesting, with the aliens sometimes merely being a backdrop for all of these interactions. As many of the characters become infected with alien genes, or are hybrid human/alien offspring (Lexi), what, or who is alien, becomes murkier and murkier. The fourth season is probably the best so far with the introduction of Scarlett Byrne as an alien/human hybrid who epitomizes the inner conflicts between self and the two species. Trust is a major theme of the show with this dwindling group of humans who look to be on the verge of extinction. The show becomes...
One of my few favorite shows!

Excellent season! It's a shame this 2015 is the last year of production. Good acting & plot.. a little overboard w/ family this & that which is ok by me.
I prefer to watch the whole season continuously so, i'll wait until season 5's release.. which could be a little qicker.. hint..hint..

Darker days ahead the 2nd Mass
This season was the darkest in the history of the show. Last season ended with a lot of unknowns especially regarding Tom and Anne's daughter Lexi, but also with hope. That finally the humans have a fighting chance against the enemy. Without giving away spoilers the 1st part of the first episode features an all out attack on the 2nd Mass, that leaves them broken and scattered apart and some in very bad positions.

The first half of the season is all about reuniting, and dealing with the issues and traumas of what occurred during their separation. The most changed by the events in ep 1 are Anne and Matt. We see a side of the good doctor that I didn't know existed. She goes from being the kind healer and supportive matriarch standing behind Tom, to a desperate mother trying to find her child, and leading a small group of survivors with authority of a war general. She went from a woman who was afraid to even hold a gun, to fashioning weapons from spare parts, standing...

Acclaimed filmmaker Christopher Nolan directs an international cast in this sci-fi actioner that travels around the globe and into the world of dreams. Dom Cobb (Leonardo DiCaprio) is the best there is at extraction: stealing valuable secrets inside the subconscious during the mind’s vulnerable dream state. His skill has made him a coveted player in industrial espionage but also has made him a fugitive and cost him dearly. Now he may get a second chance if he can do the impossible: inception, planting an idea rather than stealing one. If they succeed, Cobb and his team could pull off the perfect crime. But no planning or expertise can prepare them for a dangerous enemy that seems to predict their every move. An enemy only Cobb could have seen coming.

Review :
"Life could be a dream..."
On the surface Inception seems to be a crime caper, complete with master of disguise Eames (Tom Hardy), planner Aridane (Ellen Page), point man Arthur (Joseph Gordon-Levitt), and master thief Cobb (Leonardo DiCaprio). But it's so much more than that, taking place in dreams within dreams within dreams.

Inception, like Total Recall and The Matrix, is about perception. The audience is never sure what reality is because the protagonist isn't sure what's real. There are clues providing evidence for the real/not real theories, but the best movies of this type don't come down on one side or another. Total Recall ultimately had enough clues indicating the "right" way. The Matrix stumbled after it made it clear that reality was fiction, thereby losing an audience who enjoyed the tantalizing mystery. Like so many mysteries, once the truth was revealed it wasn't quite as exciting as we all hoped. Inception wisely avoids providing answers.

Inception is also a thought...
Excellent Movie, Excellent Package

This is one of the best movies I saw this year. The plot is deep and very detailed. The movie can seem confusing to some but watching twice really is worth it. You'll definitely catch anything little detailed you missed the first time. Christopher Nolan's writing and directing skills have always been great and they will not disappoint in this movie. The movie is mind boggling and definitely worth the purchase.

As for the Steelbook, the packaging is great. It includes 2 Blu-ray discs, one being the Movie and the Other Special Features. Digital copy is included as a download and not on DVD. However, a DVD version of the film is included so you can watch on any DVD player.

Inception: Fresh and Original
This movie was original, well-written, and well-acted. The story was creative, fresh, and engrossing. One of the best films I have seen in years. I really don't understand the bad reviews on here. I realize you cannot please everyone, but calling this movie "terrible" or saying that the experience of watching it was "nightmare" seems a bit extreme. If you don't like something, that's cool. I get that. Say something like "I didn't like it, not my type of movie" or "the effects were cool, but I didn't think the story made sense" or "this movie wasn't what I expected, here is what I was looking for..."
Those types of comments can be helpful. But saying the movie is shyte, or saying "I hate it" or "it sucks" is not very helpful.

I liked this movie because it was not like anything I have seen before. I thought it was exciting and engaging, the story really pulled me in, and held me tight, never letting go until the credits rolled. Lots of good action and effects,...

Mimics are...
What I like about the book over the movie is it took the time to tell the reader what Mimics are..

On a planet far, far away, a race of highly advance and intelligent beings on an over populated planet sent out nanobots to terraform a distant planet they felt could sustain their life. That planet being Earth.

Upon arriving Earth the ship broke into eight parts while the mothership remained in orbit. 4 parts fell into the sea, the rest on land. All communications from Earth were ignored. After the world's nations finished auguring among themselves it was decided that they blasted the mothership to space bits with missiles. Meanwhile In the depths of the oceans, the machines chanced upon echinoderms—starfish

The nanobots penetrated the rigid endoskeletons of the starfish and began to multiply in symbiosis with their hosts.

The resulting creatures fed on soil. They ate the world and spat out poison. Toxic to earth life but suitable to...
Cool superheroine fights in alien D-day
The advertisements for this movie really missed the mark, as there is so much greatness going on in this film. "Tom Cruise vs the aliens" or sci-fi "Groundhog Day"? Sure, those claims are true, but rather simplistic. There are several other really wonderful things to love about this film:

1) Kickass super-heroine - While many lament the absence of women from the modern superhero boom (and rightfully so,) this movie delivers that rare woman warrior. At the start, Tom Cruise is the puny wimp, while Emily Blunt is the fearless leader of Earth's entire army. She swings this ridiculously giant manga-style sword and crushes aliens like nothing. It's simply great and cool to see anybody doing this, but especially a lady.

2) Sci-fi D-Day - This movie showcases a classic "storming of Normandy" sequence where instead of Americans attacking Germans, it's power-suited humans airdropping onto the beach to make battle with alien enemies. It's big,...
"Ned? Ned Ryerson?" - yeah, kinda like that, but sci-fied up
It's an indictment on its crap marketing campaign that Edge of Tomorrow isn't inflicting more damage at the box office. It's one of the strongest sci-fi films to come around in recent years and also one of Tom Cruise's best performances. The trailers failed utterly to sell that to its audience, instead making it seem to be some sort of heavy, existential experience à la last year's Oblivion. But whereas Oblivion felt like a sucker punch to the face, Edge of Tomorrow comes off clever and smart and unexpectedly funny. It resonates on an emotional level. It carries shades of Groundhog Day, of 12:01 and Source Code and that "Monday" episode from X-Files. It's infused with bits of Starship Troopers and Aliens and awesome video games.

I don't think it's deliberate, but it's a kick (for me, anyway) that the film topsy-turvies those glib early roles Tom Cruise used to play. This is a fantastic character arc for him. Cruise is Major William Cage, smug face of U.S. Army media...

Review :
Ridiculous show, but I can't stop watching it

This is probably an ideal show for high school and maybe college aged students. That being said, I am 30 and can't stop watching this show. It is so ridiculous, but I love it.

Great show. Keeps you guessing

Hey Amazon where is episode 4??? Great show. Keeps you guessing.

Awesome way to watch!

My experience with Amazon watch was outstanding! I'm one of those people who hates to be behind on shows I love, and I was super happy with how easy it was to watch through Amazon! There are no commercials and zero interruptions while watching, it didn't even buffer once! You can pause it and come back to it too. The price I thought was fair and if you save your credit card to your account, you can buy the next episode with just a click of a button! It's super convenient when binge watching a couple episodes at a time. I would recommend using Amazon to anyone! It's worth it.
