Review :
Humor for Adults too: "Metric Tools."
Once again we visit two tried and true plot devices: Stranger in a Strange Land and The Hero's Journey. This colorful and humorous outing is directed by Tim Johnson ("Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas") with a screenplay written by Tom Astle and Matt Ember ("Epic") based on the novel by Adam Rex.

This animated PG movie from DreamWorks is entertaining; even the title sequence has a good laugh. Of course the adults find this story more predictable than the children; on the other hand adults are amused by many, many bits that go right over the youngsters' heads (e.g., a reference to metric tools).

The voices provided by Jim Parsons ("The Big Bang Theory") as the alien Oh and Rihanna ("Annie" - 2014) as earthling Tip are outstanding and mesh perfectly with the excellent animation that conveys their emotions to a "T." They get able assistance from Steve Martin ("The Big Year") and Jennifer Lopez ("Ice Age"), as...
Don't miss out!
This is such a fantastic family movie that we all enjoyed. My husband and I talk about it even when the kids aren't around. The message of morals, values, and ethics were clean and clear which so many of our "family movies" are missing. This is on MY wish list to get! Thank you DreamWorks!

Buy buy buy (LOVE)
I love love love it it's supercute film me and the kids are in love . Interesting story line and the humor was super hilarious and age appropriate for the whole family to enjoy. We loved tips curly hair it made the character (voice rihanna ) all the more beautiful. And having her mom (voice of Jlo) was a lovely bonus it reminds me of me and my mother in a Latino family we are all of different looks( color hair types) and that shouldn't hinder the idea of blood family . Must buy film

This was a great movie, Made me cry and laugh and I'm in my 30's, its a great family movie and great music to boot.

Good movie for 4 year olds that get scared by some movies. This granddad liked it too.
I greatly enjoyed this movie, as did my 4 year old twin grandsons. One of them gets turned off if a movie has "bad guys". But without spoiling anything, he was happy when he found out the "real" story of one of the bad guys in this film. The whole thing is hilarious, lots of good jokes, and the 3D is great. The kids kept trying to grab the objects.

Home (3D/2D blu ray review): top video/audio; great 3D effects; many pop songs, especially by Rihanna; Jim Parsons outstanding!
VIDEO (3D):

“Home” 3D arrives on blu-ray with MPEG-4 MVC @ 41Mbps 1080p 1.85:1 encode. The video really benefited from the high bit-rate, showing off vibrant colours and pristine razor-sharp images. There is solid depth with nice sense of spacing. Blacks are inky. The images are virtually the same between 3D and 2D, although if you have a 3D set, the 3D version is more fun and preferred. (5/5)

VIDEO (2D):

“Home” 2D arrives on blu-ray with MPEG-4 AVC @ 28Mbps 1080p 1.85:1 encode. All the good qualities in the description above applies to 2D. (5/5)

AUDIO:

“Home” arrives onto blu-ray with DTS-HD 7.1 Master Audio lossless track. The outstanding aspect is the choice of voice characters, especially Jim Parsons as “Oh”. Of course having Rihanna as “Tip” (plus her many songs, like “Only Girl (In the World)”, “Dancing in the Dark” plus “Red...
