Legendary Peter Falk is a four-time Primetime Emmy Award-winner for his iconic role as the beloved, trenchcoat-wearing Police Lieutenant Columbo. Columbo is the landmark series that inspired a genre. And now, for the first time ever, all 69 episodes from its seven seasons and all 24 television movies are together in this 34-disc anthology. Every criminal, every innocent victim (and some not-so-innocent ones), and every wily deduction are here in one definitive collection. Seemingly befuddled but always brilliant, the cigar-chomping detective will have you following the clues and asking "just one more thing" until the last case is cracked.

Note: This set contains 34 discs which are contained in 8 cases.

Review :
This is the one.
And I bought it twice.

This is The Complete Columbo -- all 69 episodes, for roughly a buck twenty-five per, including tax. It's an amazing (Amazon?) deal on *the* signature police procedural of the 1970s. And given that a third of the episodes run from 1989 - 2003, well beyond that decade.

What I mean by buying it twice, is that I collected the individual DVD releases largely as they came out: I got the 1970s series for my wedding (yes, really) and then as new ones were sold, I bought them. Then, when the complete slipcased versions that are in this set released on my son's 20th birthday, I knew I'd be getting it to replace my aging versions. Now I have.

This set has every episode, including the original "Prescription: Murder" and the pilot "Ransom for a Dead Man." Then there are 43 episodes from the 1970 "regular" NBC series, and 24 of the later TV movies from ABC. You can get details from the usual sources -- some ran as 90 minutes with commercials,...
Columbo: The Complete Series
This set of Columbo is wonderful I was really surprised at the Quality of the episodes we have viewed. Could not be happier and look forward to completing the entire series. We have seen all before but can never get enough of this outstanding program. I was going to order the individual seasons on DVD since the VHS we had was getting old and most had commercials. I was willing to wait for this truly complete package and am convinced I made the right decision.

If you are a Columbo Fan this is a Must Have. As I said the quality is outstanding!

We have been long time fans of Columbo and had most episodes on VHS from The Original Showing. We now have a complete set of this Great Show.

Thanks to Amazon for this Treasure.

Intriguing; Engrossing; Wonderful!
O-K, so the evidence would NEVER hold up in a real court; and real cops aren't as nice; intelligent; or as conscientious as Columbo - things that would normally turn me off of any other show....but Columbo is much more than any other show! Despite my opening criticisms, this is a show that one can become totally engrossed in. It keeps you engrossed from beginning to end- not with gimmicks, like action or gore, but with intrigue. Yes, I said intrigue- even though we know at the start who committed the crime; the intrigue enters when we try and fathom how Columbo will solve it! Truly a brilliant concept for a show, and so well executed in this series. In addition, there is always amusement/humor at Columbo's mannerisms; attire; car; dog, etc.

But wait- there's MORE! This series is a treasure trove of past acting greats whose names most generation-Xers such as myself may have heard of, but we have never really had the chance to see perform. These were actors and actresses who...

Review :
Even better than the series
This is one incredible movie. No, you don't have to be familiar with the series to enjoy it, but the familiarity will make several moments in the movie that much more tragic. The action here is incredible, and unlike several of the Star Trek movies, the characters don't deviate from their series personnas. The emotional impact of several scenes is so intense it was hard to stay seated (a crash landing sequence can almost give you motion sickness). This brings a satisfying end to the storyline the original series had started. It's a shame the show never got to tell this story in its entirety. You can see where some parts of the movie are rushed in a way. Something that could have been stretched over weeks in a series had to be handled in minutes, and that robs it a little. But you have to applaud Whedon for being able to tie up all the loose ends he started with just two hours. Shame on the network for cancelling this, but congratulations to Whedon for giving the fans--both old and...
You Can't Stop the Signal
It wasn't suppose to happen like this...

Back in the summer of 2001, Fox announced that "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" mastermind Joss Whedon would be creating a new television show that was a cross between Science Fiction and the Western Genres... For months Fox spent millions of dollars promoting the one "sure fire series of the season" but then the problems started... the pilot was too slow, Executive Heads Clashed, and Baseball season all got mixed into the mixing pot... and in the end fans where left with an out of order, mixed up, tale of identitify (which is ironic if you think about it).

But the fans of Joss Whedon and of the character he creates would not let this be the end of the "firefly" universe, and after much fanfare, petitions, and literal Bitching; Universal Pictures did something rather uprecidented: they green lite a "big-screen' movie which Joss Whedon describes as "a thank you to the fans."

And that is exactly what the film version of...
Outstanding Space Opera
A wonderous vision of the future started in the all too short run of the TV series Firefly continues in the big screen version of it, Serenity. The TV show and movie is about the crew of a star ship that is as much unlike the USS Enterprise as it can get. It's a ranshackle freighter skippered by Mal Reynolds, a man part Han Solo, part Jesse James. He was on the losing side of an intersteller civil war against the Alliance, a buraucratic, oppressive government that seems to consists of people who believe quite fervently they know better than other people how they should live their lives. Captain Reynolds and his motley crew, including his former second in command from the war, her husband the pilot, an engineer who is as cute as she is sharp with the hyper drive, a muscle bound mercenary in a constant state of mutiny, a preacher, a courtesan, and a doctor and his troubled (to say the least!) sister eck out a thin living doing odd jobs out on the frontier, some of them not exactly...

Review :
Suck it!
Best show on TV. My kids and I love it! It's the only show I buy on Amazon because we don't have cable. Hulu Plus and Netflix take care of anything else we want to watch. Every actor on the show is phenomenal. We laugh every episode. Season 8 rocks so far. Thanks to the cast for creating the best show on TV!

This season fell short :(
I own all of the season of Psych along with Psych: The Musical, and season 8 has fallen short of the typical humor. The last episode of the season is the best. The lack of all of the characters really affected the overall enjoyability of the episodes. Gus's character became a bit more "silly" in a not so positive way. Due to this, Shawn's character also appeared even more ridiculous. Again, I found this to be due in large part to the lack of the regular characters on the show. I missed Juliet, Karen, and Henry. I understand that the actors were all busy with other endeavors, but, in that case, it would have been nice to end the show sooner so that the show would have ended on a positive note. Those that say this last season was just as good as the pervious seasons is simply not watching the same show as I was watching. It went from ten funny, memorable lines an episode to about one to two per episode. Still, I am a huge Psych-O and will continue re-watching all of the...
Can't believe it's the last season
Psych is my favorite program, and it hurts to think that it's coming to an end. One of the funniest and most creative shows to ever air on television, I own all of the seasons on DVD and greatly enjoy watching the evolution of its characters and plots. It will be extremely interesting to watch how the writers conclude the series. I highly recommend Psych (all seasons) to everyone who enjoys laughing as well as mystery.
