The FINAL 29 episodes of BTAS!!!
Even though the description on Amazon says 28, there are 29 episodes total in this set. This completes the 85 total episodes of Batman: The Animated Series which ran from 1992-1995. It was known as The Adventures of Batman & Robin starting from Season 3 onward which included a new opening sequence and theme (which are included on the proper episodes). These episodes are still considered part of BTAS and are included in this set.

This set DOES NOT include the 24 episodes from Batman: Gotham Knights (aka The New Batman Adventures) which ran from 1997-1999 alongside Superman TAS on WB. Hopefully a 4th set that includes these episodes will be released later this year.

The episodes included in this third volume are considered some of the best episodes in the entire series. There are some great commentaries (Read my Lips, House and Garden, Harlequinade) and featurettes (Gotham's New Knight - Batgirl). It also includes a trailer for the new Batman Begins movie. As...
New Villains! 29 (not 28) episodes! Batgirl!
This is a hard decision, but I have to say that this volume is better than the other two. Barbara Gordon gets introduced as Batgirl for the first time, and we meet new villains! Ra's Al Ghul, Baby-Doll, Scarface, Bane, Lock Up, are Maxie Zeus and introduced in these 29 great episodes. Mr. Freeze, The Riddler, The Penguin, Poison Ivy, Two-Face, The Mad Hatter, Harley Quinn, Killer Croc, The Clock King, and Red Claw return! This is clearly a better volume than the previous because it concludes "Batman: The Animated Series," and has cool extras. Some people, however, think that the extras (special features) are bad because they're mainly commentary. Well, I hope you buy this totally awesome 4-disc set.....packed with 609 minutes of action!!! Some episodes descriptions to get you interested are the following: Ra's Al Ghul needs Batman's help to find his daughter Talia, Batman's villains hold a trial against him, Scarface frames Catwoman, the Joker steals an atomic bomb, Red Claw plans to...

Review :
Extraordinary Classic British Mysteries With an Extraordinary Actress
Oh Frabjous Day! The last set of the remastered Miss Marples starring Joan Hickson is available to order. I have all her Marples on the 2000 DVD issues. But I've watched them so many times I decided to buy Volume One of the remastered sets, just to see if it would be worth it. It was! Now I have Volumes One & Two and the colors are bright and beautiful, the viewing sharp, the sound cleaned up, and the mysteries and personalities as wonderful as ever.

Volume Three has four episodes and one bonus extra on the last disc. The bonus is Part 3 of Dr. Lucy Worsley's 3-part TV series "A Very British Murder". (Parts 1 and 2 of Worsley's fun look at murder in England appears on the Miss Marple remasterings' Volume One & Two.)

Following Volumes One & Two, the Volume 3 episodes are presented in the original 4:3 aspect ratio. Sound is still mono, but it has been cleaned up. English subtitles are available. There's a total 450 minutes of excellent mystery...
Brilliantly restored from original films
Even thought these were filmed in 16mm (the BBC standard) they will still be a great improvement over the old washed out standard definition film transfers from the early 1990's.

The episodes have been completely remastered to high definition quality from the original film elements by BBC Studios and Post Production's Digital Media Services team.

Regarded by many fans as the definitive Miss Marple, Joan Hickson was one of the oldest actresses to take a lead role in a major television series when she was cast as Agatha Christie's soft-spoken, sharp-eared sleuth at the age of 78 in 1984. She retired eight years later, having completed 12 mysteries in the Miss Marple series - four of which are collected in this volume.

These are in their original BBC versions, which varied greatly in their broadcast. Some as one episode, others split into multiple episodes.

It is amazing what they have done with digital corrections and blue ray. Compare these to the old series on dvd and there is no connection. The new series are like a whole new program. Yes it is in box format but this is because the 16mm film format is box format. The sound is clear and not mufilled, there are subtitles. The colors have contrast, saturation and crispness. They are not cheap, but the tech hours to redue these films is enormous! The price is worth every penny. These dvds will last for generations. There was only one Joan Hickson.

It was a gift.
I sent these movies to my older brother for Christmas. I remember him watching Dragon Ball Z while we were younger and I never understood while he liked this anime series so much, . . until my boyfriend got a hold of the Dragon Ball series, Dragon Ball Z series, and the Dragon Ball GT series. I literally watched every episode with my boyfriend non stop, until we we got somewhere in GT, because GT wasn't as good as Dragon Ball Z in my opinion, I digress, these series are amazing in every way. The story of Goku and his friends is absolutely amazing, you get to know every character and you feel like your a part of this badass story, this is one of my most favorite anime series of all time, In fact it is my number one choice and in my opinion the best. To wrap things up I made my brother very happy with this gift and I'm sure if you know anyone who was or is a Dragon Ball fan they would really enjoy these movies.

Childhood
Nothing but perfection! The quality is excellent and being able to see your favorite superheros on DVD is priceless. Kids and adults will love this collection of movies.

Awesome Collection
I love DragonBall Z since I was little. To have this collection in my procession is amazing to me because for a long time I couldn't find the movies for DBZ. Now that technology has changed since then a lot of remakes are being made. This version is from the original Japanese intro and outros. I grew up on the 90s version of the intro and outros so for this one I was a bit surprised but the picture is clear as it can be. It a WONDERFUL collection. I just love it. If you are a DBZ fan, you must get it.

Review :
Excellent Blu-ray transfer. ZERO bonus features.
It can be argued that Lilo & Stitch is one of the strongest and most beloved Disney animated films. This holds true for many (especially myself), so you can imagine my excitement when Disney finally announced a Blu-ray release for the film. They even chose to include Stitch Has A Glitch, an excellent follow-up to the series and TV show. This also made me excited for a separate 2-pack with Stitch! The Movie and Leroy & Stitch.

That eagerness quickly faded.

As stunning as the transfer is on this Blu-ray release, it is completely lacking -ANY- bonus features. That's right, no deleted scenes, no special interviews, and ESPECIALLY lacking is the excellent commentary that many fans enjoyed for its thoroughness and loving care towards the film's creation. The back of the box has the audacity to claim that Stitch Has A Glitch is THE bonus feature, "with more fun, laughter and adventure for the entire family". Yes, the movie is a nice supplement to the main film, but it...
Great Movie, Rotten Blu-ray
It's disheartening to see Disney continue to release their Blu-ray titles with little or no extra content. They did this with "Avengers" and "Wreck it Ralph" but this takes it to a whole new level! I can't in good conscience purchase this release due to the zero extras in the Blu-ray, and I adore the movie itself! They could have at least tried to add in the extras from their prior DVD releases but they couldn't even do that! I really hope Disney will stop this trend of lack of extras but I fear as long as consumers buy their products and they continue to cut costs, don't expect anything less from the mouse.

Shame on Disney for taking out ALL the special features!
My ONE star rating is not for the actual animated film, which is one of my favorite Disney films. I would give the actual film a FIVE star rating.

BUT, I can't in all consciousness give this so-called "special edition" Blu-Ray/DVD combo version more than ONE star. In fact, if I could, I would give it a ZERO. For anybody who had the two DVD releases, "Lilo & Stitch" came with a bunch of special features including some of the cute teaser trailers featuring other Disney characters and one of the BEST and LONGEST "making of" featurettes I've seen on a Disney DVD.

Instead of putting any special features, they try to trick us into thinking the so-called sequel IS the special feature.

I HATE, HATE, HATE, HATE, HATE that Disney Home Entertainment has been bundling their first run animated classics with their straight to video so-called sequels. They did it with Pocahontas and Mulan, which I didn't mind so much because they included special features...

In this award-winning anime series, Aang has survived a terrible battle and must face new challenges as he and his friends enter the Fire Nation. Bonuses: commentary by the creators, the women of Avatar, pencil test animation and Into the Fire Nation at C Book 3: Fire, Vol. 1 Avatar the Last Airbender: Book 3, Volume 1 is a slightly unusual suite of episodes in the Avatar canon, as the majority of programs are even more comical than usual. Not that the five shows included on this disc lack seriousness: the long-running series now finds young Aang (the once and future avatar destined to reunite the world’s four estranged nations) and his traveling companions behind enemy lines in the Fire Nation, disguised as colonists. In "Awakening," Aang arises--with a surprising headful of dark hair--from several weeks of unconsciousness (due to the injuries he sustained during a battle for Ba Sing Se) aboard a captured Fire Nation warship. Though he finds old friends Sokka, Toph, and Katara nearby, all urging him not to take matters in his own hands, Aang ultimately feels compelled to go head-to-head with the Fire Lord before he is ready. The result forces Aang and the others to remain incognito, setting up subsequent episodes in which the heroes are forced to lay low and find something else to do with their time besides fight adversaries. In "The Headband," Aang enrolls in a Fire Nation school, where his eyes are opened to such ordinary experiences as dealing with a campus bully and getting a hard time from strict teachers. In "The Painted Lady," Aang, Sokka, Katara, and Toph visit an impoverished fishing village and have to repress their typical instinct to help lest they be recognized as outsiders. (An alternative is found.) "Sokka’s Master," in some ways the most enjoyable episode here, finds Sokka feeling useless because he doesn’t possess powers similar to his mates. His solution: talk a master swordsman into taking him on as an apprentice. Finally, the most unexpected story in this collection is "The Beach," in which Prince Zuko, Azula, Mai, and Ty Lee--all of whom are back in the Fire Nation, too--take an awkward holiday but end up learning a lot about one another.

Meanwhile, Zuko--following his extended banishment from the Fire Nation--discovers that his father welcoming again, but only because his manipulative sister, Princess Azula, has falsely told everyone that Zuko killed Aang. Fearing that his father will disown him again, Zuko chooses not to tell the truth and works on having Aang quietly assassinated. Where Zuko had been more of a complete human being during his exile, he’s back to being a monster again, going so far as to keep his dutiful uncle, Iroh, in a dark, dank prison. --Tom Keogh

Book 3: Fire, Vol. 2 Avatar the Last Airbender: Book 3--Fire, Volume 2 finds the series closing in on a long-awaited day of reckoning with the fire nation. The five episodes on this disc continue those chapters on Volume 1 in which Aang--the young avatar--and his companions Katara, Toph, and Sokka live undercover in the fire nation, awaiting the moment when an alliance of warriors from the air, water, and earth nations converge to overtake the conquering firebenders once and for all. On Volume 2, the path to the day of battle, in typical Avatar fashion, is full of misadventures and intrigue, but also sundry revelations that make the pending series climax that much more interesting. "The Avatar and the Firelord" is the backstory of how the fire nation leader came to be a brutal tyrant in the world. Turns out he was the best friend of none other than the previous avatar; the souring of their relationship led to the troubles young Aang is trying to resolve. (While Aang is finding all this out, the fire nation’s Prince Zuko discovers his ancestry is more complicated than he’d imagined, and that he has more of a role to play in ending the war waged by his people.) "The Runaway" is a comedy about mischievous Toph getting into trouble for using her earthbending powers to win bets and make a lot of money. "The Puppetmaster" is a scary story featuring a waterbending old woman who initially enchants Katara, but then later is revealed to be a vengeful monster with terrifying abilities to control people’s bodies. "Nightmares and Daydreams" concerns an anxious Aang unable to sleep and stop hallucinating prior to the coming battle, while part one of "The Day of Black Sun" sees the beginning of the allies’ invasion of the fire nation. Lots of surprises in this last episode, with a cliffhanger ending that makes the next volume of Avatar most desirable. --Tom Keogh

Book 3: Fire, Vol. 3 At the beginning of Avatar the Last Airbender: Book 3 Fire, Vol. 3, things don't go quite the way one would have hoped at the end of Vol. 2. Aang--the young avatar--and his companions Katara, Toph, and Sokka were part of a major assault on the tyrannical fire nation, and hopes of victory were high. In "The Day of Black Sun, Part 2: The Eclipse," however, circumstances reverse the heroes' fortunes, forcing Aang, his friends and the very youngest warriors to flee the battle. As they regroup at the Western Air Temple, mourning the expected imprisonment of the adults left behind, Aang comes face to face with an unexpected, would-be ally: Zuko, prince of the fire nation. Sokka and Katara refuse to accept Zuko's guarantee that he is truly on their side (they've been through this before), but Toph and Aang are a little more receptive to the idea. Good thing. In "The Firebending Masters," Aang accepts that Zuko could be the firebending mentor he needs to show him how to conquer the most elusive of the four elements. But it isn't easy: Zuko loses his power and must retreat to a fire nation temple, where he can learn the origins of his native gift. The set of five stories on this disc concludes with the two-part "The Boiling Rock," in which Sokka and Zuko infiltrate a fire nation maximum security prison in hopes of freeing Sokka's father. Trying hard to stay clandestine, Zuko's identity is revealed anyway, jeopardizing not only the mission but Zuko and Sokka's very freedom. The excitement is endless in the long-running Avatar series, and developments (especially Zuko's acceptance by Aang and the others) are as heartening as they are surprising. --Tom Keogh

Book 3: Fire, Vol. 4 The long-running series Avatar the Last Airbender comes to a dazzling conclusion in Book 3 Fire, Volume 4. Poised for quite a number of episodes (seen in previous volumes) to go to war against the tyrannical Fire Nation, Aang the young Avatar and his cohorts must now bring down the Fire Lord and his army, or watch them ramp up their destructive powers during an imminent solar eclipse. But there's a lingering question only Aang can answer: can the Avatar, who has never killed anyone, bring himself to take the Fire Lord's life? That is what he must do, according to Zuko, the Fire Prince who has thrown in his lot with Aang and the latter's friends.

While Aang is sorting that out--receiving various wisdoms from past Avatars and advice from a giant turtle-lion creature--Zuko and Katara take another leg of the battle by confronting Zuko's crazed sister. Meanwhile, Sokka re-asserts his latent talent for commanding dangerous missions as he and earth-bender Toph attempt to sabotage Fire Nation airships. The final episodes on this disc are thrilling, in no small part because they have been so long in arriving. Before those, however, there are a couple of interesting chapters to get through, including "The Southern Raiders," in which Katara attempts to exact revenge for the disappearance of her mother. As always, there's some comic relief, in this case "The Ember Island Players," in which our heroes experience the ignominy of watching some of their previous adventures become a ridiculous, staged play. --Tom Keogh

Review :
Best Animation or Cartoon I have Ever Seen
I had watched the movie, The Last Air Bender, first. I wasn't impressed. So, I didn't think the animated series would be any good. I couldn't be more wrong. I was so addicted to the series that I recommended it to all my friends. It's an incredible animation/cartoon. The characters seem so real--I felt the emotions from their voices and character expressions. I've never seen a cartoon that could move me with feelings, like those expressions found with real people, as this cartoon did for me. The stories were so touching--war and peace, love and hate, anger and happiness, caring and carelessness, worried and emotionless, motherly and fatherly, family and individualism, people and the environment, conflict and serenity, and so many more feelings and emotions that we face as human beings. This tv series of three seasons made me smile and sad at the same time. It makes you want to know more about the story; but I guess the wonders in all of us of what happens after season 3 is...
What a great show!!! too bad it's over....
I must say when this show first came out I never wanted to watch it because I figured it was just like all this pokemon and dragonball z nonsense out on tv. This show is very different, the first episode I watched was an episode in the first book I believe where it shows Momo's story and Zuko's story where he goes out on a date with a girl, and I just thought what is this show really all about? Luckily nickelodeon was showing Avatar from the beginning that week for the beginning of the second season. I never missed an episode after that.

After all the waiting for the third season to finish I really was expecting a fourth one, because we have the books of: Earth,Water, and Fire. The creators could have made another book about Aang's life, but maybe it was better the way they ended this. I hope I didn't spoil anything by saying that.

I hope Avatar isn't ruined by M. Night Shyamalan, since he is planning on making an Avatar movie with real actors. Either way I will...
Mom who HATES Anime but LOVES Avatar
As a mom of two who is nearing 40, I was begrudgingly introduced to the Avatar series when my son talked me into getting the first disk of Book 1: Earth through Blockbuster. I sat down with the kids when they put the disk. I had NO intention of paying attention to the show. I am VERY happy to say that by the end of that first disk I couldn't wait to get the next. This show is truly great. The story lines are wonderful, the music is powerful and you truly grow to care about these kids who are working to save the world. We just finished the final disk of the final book tonight and it was FABULOUS. We are looking forward to getting the full set in September to complete our set collection. I can't recommend this series enough.

Review :
this is the season that Last Airbender fans should enjoy most. For me
I understand that there's been a lot of criticism about Korra from people who grew up watching Avatar: The Last Airbender. And that's understandable. A lot of what the original series brought to the table - the humor, the quirky protagonist, the epic scale of the narrative - was very uncommon in animated series at the time and hasn't been done well by many series since.

That said, this show is NOT the last airbender. Aang is not the protagonist, the scale of the first two seasons was relatively limited to one location, and the focus on relationships (while in my opinion understandable given the shift in age of the major characters) was a noticeable deviation from the original format that left a sour taste in many peoples' mouths. Season 2 in particular felt fairly contrived and rushed, leaving a lot of things unresolved and culminating in a somewhat cliched and deus-ex-machina finish. So for some, expectations were at a low coming into this season, and many of my friends...
The Best Korra Season Yet.
I'll update the review once the season is finished airing but 5 episodes in, it is safe to say that this is the best episode of The Legend of Korra yet.

Studio Mir is back animating all of the episodes this season and once again, it is probably the most beautiful animation on television. The fight scenes in particular stand out as they a fluid and fast paced.

Unlike last season's disappointing villain, this season seems to be stepping it up with a group of four criminals who's motives are shrouded in mystery. They are powerful and make a formidable enemies for Korra and I can't wait to see how their story plays out.

One of the issues many people had with Book 2 of this series was that the main characters always seemed to be at each others throats instead of working as a team. That is not the case here. Team Avatar is back and working together and unlike last season, you can believe that they are a very close group of friends.

It's fun,...
Dafauq is with Viacom
Let me get this straight Viacom, company that owns Nickelodeon, has refused to let streaming/online purchasing of Korra Season 3 solely to get viewership up for actual broadcasts. I'm sorry I love the show but I work nights and can't make the normal airtime of the show. The fact that the first three episodes have already premiered and they have not released them through digital outlets like this one is BS. I wanna support the show and buying the digital season pass is how I do it cause I can't watch it any other way.
